Join the Bobcat and Athens communities for 51社区鈥檚 5th annual On The Green Weekend, May 16-19. This year鈥檚 schedule is packed with events to help reconnect alumni with their favorite aspects of Athens.

With events to take you back to the classroom or behind the scenes at Athens鈥� breweries 鈥� and everywhere in between 鈥� you鈥檙e sure to find something you鈥檒l love.

On May 16, enjoy a historical house tour at the birthplace of Civil War General William Sherman. This program takes place in Lancaster, Ohio, from 2-6:30 p.m. and will be guided by Brian Schoen, a professor in OHIO鈥檚 history department. Transportation from Athens included.

Every evening, head to the Athena Cinema on Court Street for the On The Green Film Series, which includes classics like 鈥淕rease鈥� and 鈥淎nimal House.鈥� See the schedule for the full lineup of films.

For the Athens foodies looking to kick off On The Green Weekend with some of their favorite cuisine, don鈥檛 miss Taste of Athens on May 17. Join alumni and friends on College Green at 7 p.m. to give your taste buds a treat. In attendance will be some of Athens most prized restaurants serving appetizer-sized portions, both savory and sweet.

鈥淥n The Green Weekend is built to remind our alumni of their positives memories of Athens and 51社区,鈥� Association Assistant Director of External Relations Ryan Boyd said. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 imagine a better way to kick it off than to bring together the sights, smells and tastes that all Bobcats associate with their collegiate experiences.鈥�

Everything leads up to an action-packed Saturday on May 19. Fill your day with activities for all ages, like a 5K 鈥渟uperhero鈥� run for charity, acruise-in of classic cars, and noshing the best eats of Athens at the Food Truck Festival.
