The practice of 鈥渕emory maps鈥 is utilized by Morinoka Gordon and Hunter Thiede, as they show where they studied, ate and enjoyed their time during their years at OHIO. Though in different areas of study, their OHIO paths have covered North, East, South and West Greens, and many different local Athens businesses. In their own 鈥渕emory maps,鈥 students show OHIO鈥檚 landscape with a hammock in Emeriti Park, the Alumni Gateway, and the campus community of South Green, as well as representations of themselves and others climbing campus stairs, taking pictures of the famed deer and walking to class. Hunter Thiede is graduating with a visual communication degree in information graphics and interactive design. His friends call him 鈥淢ayor of Schoonover鈥 because of how often he sits in a seat by the window (pictured). He is going to miss the people of Athens. 鈥淎ll the people in Athens are always nice to see,鈥 Hunter says, 鈥淲hether it's strangers or good friends.鈥 Map by Hunter Thiede, BSVC 鈥23

Morinoka Gordon will be graduating with degrees in biology and psychology on a pre-med track. She plans to apply for masters programs and eventually work as a physician assistant. She helps run a research lab that focuses on the physiological response to social and relationship stresses. She is a member of the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students and OHIO Women鈥檚 Rugby. Before college, she studied piano for 13 years. She goes to Glidden Hall often to play piano and relieve stress. 鈥淭he Glidden building is an extreme image of self-comfort,鈥 Mori says.
