Interviews
Admissions Interview Process
The Heritage College interview day is structured so that we can get to know you better as potential students, and you can get to know us better as a student-centered medical school that will quickly feel like home.
All HCOM interviews are conducted 100% virtually via Microsoft Teams. Interviews are conducted on Tuesdays, from mid-September to late March. A maximum of 40 candidates will be invited for each day. Applicants selected for an interview will be notified of their appointment via email and their secondary application portal.
A formal itinerary and instructions will be provided to you a few days before your interview. The interview day itinerary is typically as follows (with some variation for each candidate):
- 10-11:50am EST - Introductions, Admissions & Curriculum Overview, and Q&A
- 11:50am-12:50pm EST - Medical Student Panel
- 12:50-1:30pm EST - Break for lunch
- Interviews are scheduled between 1:30-4pm EST
Candidates will be scheduled for two, half-hour individual interviews with HCOM selection committee members.
The selection committee will convene on Wednesday mornings and arrive at their admissions status recommendations. At this meeting, candidates will either be admitted, placed on the alternate list, or not selected for admission.
Student selection committee decisions will be emailed to you by the end of the day on Wednesday (the day after your interviews). Candidates placed on the alternate list or not selected for admission are encouraged to contact the Office of Admissions for additional feedback and insight into the decision.
